For most of us, the winter weather can bring nuisance and inconvenience. But for the homeless community, the frigid temperatures can be lethal. According to national advocacy agencies, 700 homeless individuals die of hypothermia annually.
And Macomb County is no exception.
This winter, Motor City Mitten Mission, with support from Trinity Lutheran Church, is launching the Macomb County Winter Shelter to bring warmth to our most vulnerable neighbors. From December to April, we will be providing shelter for those in need. If you or anyone you know has the means to donate their time or resources, below are three ways to help us help others!

An equally impactful way to help is to furnish the shelter with the necessary supplies to assist our guests. Cleaning supplies, toiletries, coffee, and other operational tools are needed as much as direct funding. You can purchase these items for the homeless of Macomb on our Amazon Gift Registry.
