Detroit Homeless Outreach Team

The Motor City Mitten Mission's Street Outreach Team is  currently part of a groundbreaking pilot program in Detroit collaborating with the Detroit Police Department, Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network, and the City of Detroit Housing & Revitalization Department as we proactively engage people that are unsheltered into mental health services and substance abuse treatment while also providing housing navigation services. We are now 1 of 3 trained housing navigation teams in Detroit and provide ID restoration assistance, which is crucial to linking our clients with services.  We respond regularly to law enforcement requests for assistance with those that are unsheltered and in crisis.
