Volunteer
The Motor City Mitten Mission is ALWAYS looking for volunteers. Especially to volunteers to join our "PLARN FARM" which is our MCMM Team that recycles plastic bags to make Mats and Pillows for the homeless. We also do regular "Outreach" to the homeless living on the streets as well as in shelters. While doing outreach we go prepared to provide the homeless and needy with a Plarn Mat & Pillow set along with additional items that may include coats, clothing, boots & shoes, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, long-underwear, blankets, personal care items, hand & toe warmers, snacks and bagged lunches. We also have a variety of additional volunteer opportunities to assist at various events.
Financial Assistance
The Motor City Mitten Mission is a Michigan 501c3 Nonprofit organization. We are currently a 100% volunteer organization. Every dollar donated goes directly to support the initiatives of the MCMM. In addition to providing food and the basic living necessities to our homeless and needy, our goal is ultimately to provide a job that will assist in transitioning individuals into permanent sustainable housing. This will not be possible unless we have the funds to do so. In the coming months we will be rolling out various fundraising events as well as a membership and sponsorship program. Donate Something On Our Wish List
Financial donations are always needed and welcomed to cover the operating expenses as well as to purchase additional necessities needed for our homeless and needy population. However, we also are in need of various other donations that include clothing, personal care items, food, etc. Please click on the pdf below to access a list of items we are in need of. These items are generally given out directly to the homeless and needy by one of our MCMM Outreach Volunteers either on the street or in one of our partnering shelters. We make sure that your donations are in the hands of the people that need them as soon as possible!
